Psalm 101:4-6b I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride. I will keep a protective eye on the godly, so they may dwell with me in safety.
Proverbs 6:1-3 My child, if you co-sign a loan for a friend or guarantee the debt of someone you hardly know — if you have trapped yourself by your agreement and are caught by what you said — quick, get out of it if you possibly can! You have placed yourself at your friend’s mercy. Now swallow your pride; go and beg to have your name erased.

Proverbs 17:6 Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.
Proverbs 21:4,23-24 Prideful eyes, an arrogant heart, and the lamp of the wicked are all sinful. Whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from troubles. A proud and haughty man–“Scoffer” is his name; he acts with arrogant pride.
